John was the second son born to Thomas Todd Cooley and Margaret Cooley (Edmondston)in Hobart Town 26th July 1840.
This photo of John was taken from a family group at the marriage of his son, Harry to Elizabeth Carrick c1900.
John helped his father with the Omnibus business and then went out on his own in opposition to the old man!
